Heyyo this is Day #23, Post #30 and I know I'm a few days late but I'm back and lemme tell yalls all about our day in Sendai :) So it was just a small group consisting of Fish, Arianna, Estella, Linh and I that went to Sendai on the 24th. Some of the others decided the day before that they would go on Sunday instead (26th). For our schedule, Friday worked best still so we just decided to go :3

It's about an hour train ride from Ishinomaki to Sendai but it was so worth it! We decided to take the Loople tour bus around Sendai. The tour buses stops at the major tourists sites around Sendai about every 20 minutes and every 15 minutes on Saturdays I think. It costed 620 yen for a day pass so it was hella worth it. We only had about 5-6 hours in Sendai because we had to get back in time for Estella, Arianna, and Linh's homestay that same night.
We first visited Aobe Castle which is a national historic monument :') It was really pretty and had a really nice view of Sendai which is shown a little bit in the pictures below!
Just a few more pictures on top of the hill ish area~
After that we decided to go to Museum of Natural History, Tohoku University cause why not lol. We can now say that we've been in/near a Japanese university haha. I think Tohoku University is the third imperial university so it's pretty cool hehe. I just took a pic of this because all the chemicals are labeled by their chemical structures :3 I never took orgo yet so idk how to read it but maybe I'll revisit this after sophomore year haha.
Next we went to Osaki Hachimangu Shrine which is a National Treasure of Japan! The place was really pretty and I'm really gonna miss this kind of vibe once I return back to the states :'( But gonna live in the moment and enjoy all this when I can~
The last place that we had time to visit was Sendai Mediatheque which we really didn't do much and just walked around the lobby area lol. Fish found this book of beautiful architecture (because the Sendai Mediatheque was pretty cool looking from the outside so architectural goodies was inside lol) among universities in the world! Too bad only Ross is shown but I guess it looks slick :?
After that we finished the Loople loop and came back to the station area and ate! So Sendai is known as the city of trees and ALSO beef (I think) ehehe. Some of us had beef tongue and high key it was pretty good. A little chewy for my taste but it wasn't bad :3 The next two pictures were from the bar that is connected to our hotel. After we got back to Ishinomaki some of us sat down and watched/ caught up on season 2 of One Punch Man which was really good omg. I missed it when they watched episode 1 but I read the manga a little so I wasn't too lost lol. But yea once it got dark we went to the bar to experience it and omg it was amazing. So the middle picture is Zaku sake and omg it was amazing. I think Harrison found that it was the drink of choice for the 2016 G7 Summit! So yea it was so smooth and you could barely taste the strong alcohol flavor associated with convenience store sake lol. I was always a fan of sake but its gonna be really hard to go back to convenience store sake after this lol. But the last picture is a skewer that I got which was grilled tomatoes that has been wrapped with pork. We heard they had a really good dish that is a stuffed chicken wing but I didn't know until after the night was over :( We also had a pizza but forgot to take a picture haha~
And here's a group picture of the friends that pulled up for the night :) It was fun and the nice man and woman in to the left was the owners of the bar :') LOVE IT HERE IN JAPAN. But that's it for the day, nothing much to say I found out but I'm trynna catch up on like 4 days of blogging so sorry :3 gn and onto the next day~
